New Member Ambassador

As the Chamber’s New Member Ambassador (serving for five months), Maria Vargas is often the first warm welcome new businesses receive in Ferris. She works at Micon Tax Services as Office Manager, and also serves as a Realtor and Notary Public, a combination that lets her champion entrepreneurs from many angles.

Micon Tax Services supports individuals and businesses with tax filing, bookkeeping, payroll, LLC/sole proprietorship setups, business plans, entity conversions, officer changes, nonprofit creation and status, tax consultations, credit repair, insurance/annuity, Marketplace health insurance, and notary services—a true one-stop shop for small business operations.

Maria joined the Board to support and grow Ferris businesses. “Helping others and making meaningful connections shapes everything I do,” she says. She enjoys collaborating with a team of dedicated people to design programs and events that benefit both businesses and residents. She believes the Chamber excels at bringing people together, providing resources, and raising visibility for local companies—ultimately creating a stronger, more connected community. In her Ambassador role, she welcomes new members, introduces them around, connects them to resources, and helps celebrate milestones (including ribbon cuttings) so they gain fast traction.

Family is central to Maria’s life—she has six children, including twins—and loves making memories together through sports, activities, and everyday adventures.
